Overview

TTI-1612 is a recombinant, soluble form of heparin-binding epidermal growth factor-like growth factor (HB-EGF), developed by Trillium Therapeutics. It acts as an HBEGF modulator and is designed to correct dysfunction and restore the bladder epithelium to a normal, healthy state. The drug has been investigated primarily for urogenital diseases such as interstitial cystitis/bladder pain syndrome (IC/BPS) and has also received orphan drug designation in the US and Europe for the prevention of necrotizing enterocolitis (NEC). Its mechanism involves modulation of HBEGF activity, which plays a role in epithelial repair processes[1][2][3][4][8].
