Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Soluvec is a proprietary aqueous formulation of the antiparasitic drug ivermectin, developed by Mountain Valley MD Holdings Inc. (MVMD). Utilizing the company's Quicksol technology, the formulation complexes ivermectin with hydroxypropyl-β-cyclodextrin (HP-β-CD) and polysorbate-80, resulting in a sterile preparation with approximately 2,500 times the solubility of standard ivermectin. This increased solubility allows for parenteral administration (intramuscular or subcutaneous) and potentially improved oral bioavailability. Pre-clinical data indicates significantly higher drug exposure and extended duration compared to traditional oral ivermectin. The product is being developed for both human applications via the FDA 505(b)(2) pathway and for veterinary use, including aquaculture applications such as feed coatings for farmed fish.
