Soluvit

Soluvit (specifically Soluvit N) is a sterile, lyophilized combination of water-soluble vitamins, including thiamine (B1), riboflavin (B2), nicotinamide (B3), pyridoxine (B6), pantothenic acid (B5), ascorbic acid (C), biotin (B7), folic acid (B9), and cyanocobalamin (B12). Developed and manufactured by Fresenius Kabi, it is indicated for use in adult and pediatric patients as a supplement in parenteral nutrition to provide the daily requirements of water-soluble vitamins. In clinical research, Soluvit N is frequently employed as a coloring agent for placebo solutions in double-blind trials involving yellow-colored active substances, such as levosimendan. For instance, in the WEANLESS trial (NCT04075604) sponsored by Radboud University Medical Center, Soluvit N was used to color the saline placebo to match the appearance of levosimendan in patients being weaned from mechanical ventilation.
