Overview
Somatropin + folic acid is a combination therapy being investigated by Beni-Suef University for the treatment of infertility in women with poor ovarian reserve (POR) undergoing in vitro fertilization (IVF) or intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI). Somatropin, a recombinant human growth hormone, is hypothesized to enhance ovarian response and oocyte quality by stimulating the production of insulin-like growth factor 1 (IGF-1) and modulating gonadotropin action. Folic acid is included as a standard prenatal supplement to support DNA synthesis and prevent neural tube defects.
