Overview

SON-1011 is a recombinant Fc-fusion cytokine therapeutic developed by Sonnet BioTherapeutics, designed to target the interleukin-12 (IL-12) pathway for the treatment of solid tumors. The drug utilizes Sonnet's proprietary platform to fuse IL-12 with a human Fc domain (or albumin-binding domain, often referred to as aFc in their pipeline), which is intended to significantly extend the half-life and enhance the pharmacokinetic profile of the cytokine compared to native IL-12. IL-12 is a potent pro-inflammatory mediator that coordinates the bridge between innate and adaptive immunity by activating T-cells and natural killer (NK) cells and promoting a Th1-type immune response. By providing a more stable and sustained delivery of IL-12, SON-1011 aims to stimulate robust anti-tumor activity while mitigating the severe systemic toxicities historically associated with recombinant IL-12 therapy.
