Overview

SON-1400 is a monofunctional recombinant fusion protein immunotherapy developed by Sonnet BioTherapeutics. It consists of a modified version of human interleukin-18 (IL-18), specifically engineered to be resistant to inhibition by the endogenous IL-18 binding protein (IL-18BP) while retaining wild-type binding to the IL-18 receptor. This variant, termed IL‑18BPR, is fused via Sonnet’s proprietary Fully Human Albumin Binding (FHAB) platform, which extends half-life and targets the tumor microenvironment through high-affinity binding to albumin and proteins such as glycoprotein 60 (gp60) and SPARC. The drug is designed as an immunostimulant for oncology indications, aiming to activate both innate and adaptive immune responses—primarily by stimulating natural killer cells and T lymphocytes—to enhance anti-tumor immunity in solid tumors[1][2][4][5][9].
