Overview

SON-DP is a transcription factor (TF) protein drug with potential antineoplastic activity, currently in Phase I clinical trials for the treatment of advanced and metastatic solid tumors, including breast, ovarian, pancreatic, and colorectal cancers. Upon administration, SON-DP induces pluripotent reprogramming in cancer cells to generate transient induced pluripotent stem cells (tiPSCs), which then rapidly re-differentiate into normal tissue cells. This mechanism aims to convert malignant tumor cells back into non-cancerous tissue in situ. The drug is administered intravenously and is based on protein-induced in-situ cell reprogramming technology. Qurgen developed this agent as part of its pipeline of transcription factor drugs targeting various diseases[1][2][3][4][5][8].
