Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Sonefpeglutide is a long-acting glucagon-like peptide 2 (GLP-2) analog developed by Hanmi Pharmaceutical Company Limited. It is a recombinant fusion protein chemically conjugated with the constant region of human immunoglobulin G4 (hIgG4 Fc) via a polyethylene glycol linker, utilizing Hanmi's proprietary Lapscovery platform. This design aims to enhance efficacy and enable once-monthly subcutaneous administration. Sonefpeglutide acts as a GLP-2 receptor agonist, promoting intestinal growth and absorption capacity. It is primarily being developed for the treatment of Short Bowel Syndrome-associated Intestinal Failure (SBS-IF) and has received Orphan Drug Designation and Fast Track Designation from the FDA for this indication.
