Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Songha Night is a natural health supplement formulated as a combination of two plant extracts—*Valeriana officinalis* (valerian root) and *Melissa officinalis* (lemon balm leaf)—designed to promote relaxation, improve sleep quality, and reduce symptoms of tension, restlessness, and irritability. Each tablet contains 120 mg dry extract of valerian root and 80 mg dry extract of lemon balm leaf. The product is indicated for mild to moderate insomnia as well as for relief from stress-related agitation. Mechanistically, the combination acts synergistically on the central nervous system by modulating neurotransmitter levels; valerian interacts with Group II metabotropic glutamate receptor to decrease glutamate release while lemon balm inhibits Gamma-aminobutyric acid transaminase activity to increase GABA levels in the brain. This dual action helps normalize excitatory-inhibitory balance disrupted by stress, facilitating improved sleep onset and maintenance without next-day drowsiness[1][2][3][4][8].
