Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Songling Xuemai Kang is a standardized Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) preparation developed by Chengdu Kanghong Pharmaceutical. It is primarily indicated for the treatment of primary hypertension (Grade 1-2) and associated symptoms such as dizziness, headache, and insomnia. The formulation is composed of extracts from *Pinus massoniana* (pine needles), *Pueraria lobata* (kudzu root), and pearl powder. Clinical evidence suggests that Songling Xuemai Kang is non-inferior to conventional antihypertensives like losartan potassium in reducing diastolic blood pressure. Beyond hypertension, it is being investigated for neuroprotective effects in cerebral small vessel disease (CSVD), where it may reduce neuronal apoptosis and alleviate ischemia-reperfusion injury, as well as for the management of ventricular premature contractions and dyslipidemia.
