Overview
Songyou Granule is a standardized traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) formulation composed of extracts from six herbal components: *Astragalus membranaceus*, *Salvia miltiorrhiza*, *Paeonia lactiflora*, *Crataegus pinnatifida*, *Scutellaria barbata*, and *Hedyotis diffusa* (also known as *Oldenlandia diffusa*). Developed primarily for the treatment of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), it is used as an adjuvant therapy to reduce recurrence and metastasis after surgical resection or in combination with transarterial chemoembolization (TACE) for unresectable cases. The drug exerts its anti-tumor effects by modulating the tumor microenvironment, inhibiting the epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT), suppressing matrix metalloproteinase expression, and inducing apoptosis in cancer cells.
