Drug intelligence / Profile preview
SonicFill is a sonic-activated, light-cured dental restorative material developed by Kerr Dental in collaboration with KaVo. It is a nanohybrid resin composite specifically engineered for bulk-fill posterior restorations, allowing for single-increment placement up to 5mm in depth. The material contains proprietary rheological modifiers that react to sonic energy provided by a specialized KaVo handpiece; this energy reduces the composite's viscosity by up to 84%, enabling it to flow easily into the cavity and adapt closely to the walls. Once the handpiece is deactivated, the material returns to a non-slumping, sculptable state, facilitating the creation of anatomical contours before light-curing. It is primarily used to treat dental caries in molars and premolars, offering a faster alternative to traditional incremental layering techniques.
