Sonruvetcel is an investigational veterinary biologic therapy consisting of uterine-derived allogeneic mesenchymal stromal cells (UMSCs). Developed by the animal health biotechnology company Gallant, it is designed to treat refractory feline chronic gingivostomatitis (FCGS), a severe and painful inflammatory oral condition in cats. The therapy utilizes cells sourced from healthy, specific-pathogen-free, FDA-qualified feline donors, which are manufactured under current Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP) conditions. Sonruvetcel represents a regenerative medicine approach, leveraging the immunomodulatory and anti-inflammatory properties of mesenchymal stromal cells to address the underlying pathology of FCGS. It is currently progressing through the FDA Center for Veterinary Medicine (CVM) approval process, with conditional approval targeted for early 2026.
