Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Sonzivotide filricianine (IS-002) is an investigational peptide-based fluorescent imaging agent developed by Intuitive Surgical for real-time visualization of prostate cancer during robotic-assisted surgery. It is a peptide-drug conjugate (PDC) designed to target the prostate-specific membrane antigen (PSMA), a protein highly expressed on the surface of prostate cancer cells. Administered intravenously prior to surgery, the agent accumulates in cancerous tissues, including positive surgical margins and metastatic lymph nodes. When used in conjunction with the da Vinci Surgical System's Firefly near-infrared (NIR) fluorescence imaging technology, it enables surgeons to identify and delineate residual adenocarcinoma that may not be visible under conventional white light imaging, potentially improving the precision of radical prostatectomies.
