Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**Soothe XP** is a Bausch + Lomb over-the-counter ophthalmic emollient lubricant product for temporary relief of burning, irritation, and dryness of the eye. Its active ingredients are light mineral oil 1.0% and mineral oil 4.5%. The mineral-oil formulation supplements the tear-film lipid layer, helping seal in moisture, reduce evaporative tear loss, and protect the ocular surface from further irritation. Clinical evidence in patients with meibomian gland dysfunction and lipid-deficient dry eye found that a single dose significantly increased tear-film lipid-layer thickness at 15 minutes.
