Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Soothe XP Preservative Free is an over-the-counter lubricant eye drop developed by Bausch & Lomb for the relief of dry eye symptoms. It features a proprietary lipid-restoring formulation called Restoryl, which consists of light mineral oil (1%) and mineral oil (4.5%). The mechanism of action is mechanical; the oils supplement the lipid layer of the natural tear film, reducing tear evaporation and protecting the ocular surface from irritation. This specific formulation is preservative-free and supplied in single-use vials, making it ideal for patients with sensitive eyes or those who require frequent dosing for conditions like Meibomian Gland Dysfunction (MGD).
