Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Soothing liver and relieving depression TCM granule is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) formulation developed by the Shanghai Yueyang Integrated Traditional Chinese Medicine and Western Medicine Hospital. It is primarily investigated for the treatment of Hashimoto's thyroiditis in patients exhibiting the TCM pattern of liver qi stagnation. The formulation is based on the therapeutic principle of "soothing the liver and relieving depression" (Shugan Jieyu), which aims to regulate the flow of Qi and alleviate emotional and physical symptoms associated with stagnation. In clinical trials, the efficacy of these granules is measured by their impact on thyroid autoantibodies, specifically thyroglobulin antibody (TgAb) and thyroid peroxidase antibody (TPOAb), as well as overall thyroid function and symptom relief.
