The drug is primarily indicated for its hemostatic properties, used to treat conditions such as hemorrhoids, hematochezia (bloody stools), epistaxis, and functional uterine bleeding. Mechanistically, the active flavonoids stabilize capillary walls, reduce vascular permeability, and exert anti-inflammatory effects by inhibiting enzymes such as hyaluronidase and cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2).
