Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Sophoricoside is a naturally occurring isoflavone glycoside isolated from the dried fruit of Sophora japonica (also known as Styphnolobium japonicum). It exhibits a wide range of pharmacological properties, including anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, immunosuppressive, and anti-osteoporotic activities. Preclinical studies have demonstrated its potential in treating autoimmune hepatitis, myocardial infarction, Parkinson's disease, atopic dermatitis, and neuropathic pain. Sophoricoside exerts its therapeutic effects primarily by inhibiting the NF-kB signaling pathway, activating the AMPK/mTOR pathway, and selectively blocking voltage-gated sodium channels such as NaV1.6.
