Overview

SOR-C27 is a 27-amino acid synthetic peptide derived from the C-terminus of soricidin, a paralytic venom peptide from the northern short-tailed shrew (*Blarina brevicauda*). It acts as a high-affinity antagonist of the **transient receptor potential cation channel subfamily V member 6 (TRPV6)**, a calcium channel upregulated in various cancers including ovarian, prostate, breast, thyroid, colon carcinomas, leukemias, and lymphomas. SOR-C27 demonstrates tumor-targeting capability in preclinical models, enabling molecular imaging via conjugation with fluorescent dyes or MRI contrast agents, and shows dose-dependent inhibition of tumor growth and osteoclast activity, positioning it for diagnostic and therapeutic applications in TRPV6-expressing malignancies.[1][2][3][4]
