SOT102 is an antibody-drug conjugate (ADC) designed to target CLDN18.2 (Claudin 18.2), a protein expressed on the surface of certain cancer cells, particularly in gastric and pancreatic adenocarcinomas. The drug consists of a proprietary IgG1 monoclonal antibody that specifically binds to CLDN18.2 and is conjugated via site-specific technology to a potent cytotoxic agent derived from PNU-159682, an anthracycline class compound. This targeted approach allows for the selective delivery of the cytotoxic payload directly to tumor cells expressing CLDN18.2 while minimizing effects on healthy tissue[1][2][3][4]. Preclinical studies have demonstrated strong binding specificity and effective tumor cell killing across various solid tumors with acceptable tolerability[2]. SOT102 is being developed primarily for advanced pancreatic adenocarcinoma and gastric/gastroesophageal junction adenocarcinoma[1][4].
