Overview

Sotevtamab is a humanized IgG2 monoclonal antibody that targets clusterin, specifically an epithelial-to-mesenchymal transition (EMT)-inducing form of secreted clusterin. It acts as a clusterin inhibitor and is being developed primarily for cancer therapy, including colorectal cancer and non-small cell lung cancer. Sotevtamab inhibits the invasion of certain cancer cells, such as PANC-1 pancreatic cancer cells, by blocking EMT processes. The drug is under investigation in combination with standard chemotherapy regimens like FOLFOX to enhance tumor shrinkage prior to surgical resection in metastatic colorectal cancer patients. Sotevtamab was originally developed by the National Research Council Biotechnology Research Institute and further advanced by Alethia BioTherapeutics[1][2][3][7].
