Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Sovateltide is a synthetic peptide analog of endothelin-1 and acts as a highly selective agonist of the endothelin-B (ET-B) receptor. Developed by Pharmazz, it is designed to stimulate neural progenitor cells in the brain and promote neurovascular remodeling through neurogenesis (formation of new neurons) and angiogenesis (formation of new blood vessels). Sovateltide also protects neural mitochondria and enhances their biogenesis. Its primary clinical use is for acute cerebral ischemic stroke within 24 hours of onset; it has demonstrated efficacy in improving neurological outcomes in this setting. Additional indications under investigation include hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy, spinal cord injuries, Alzheimer's disease, and pulmonary arterial hypertension[1][2][5][9].
