Overview

SOX + PD-1 antibody is a combination therapy consisting of the SOX chemotherapy regimen (S-1, an oral fluoropyrimidine derivative, and oxaliplatin, a platinum-based chemotherapeutic) together with a programmed cell death protein 1 (PD-1) monoclonal antibody. The SOX regimen acts as cytotoxic chemotherapy targeting rapidly dividing tumor cells. The addition of a PD-1 antibody—such as toripalimab or sintilimab—provides immune checkpoint inhibition by blocking the interaction between PD-1 on T cells and its ligands (PD-L1/PD-L2), thereby enhancing anti-tumor immune responses. This combination has been investigated in clinical trials for advanced gastric/gastroesophageal junction cancer and metastatic pancreatic cancer, showing improved pathological regression rates and promising antitumor activity[2][3]. The specific choice of PD-1 antibody may vary by trial or region.
