Overview

Sox4 siRNA is a small interfering RNA (siRNA) designed to silence the expression of the SRY-box transcription factor 4 (SOX4) through RNA interference. SOX4 is a transcription factor involved in embryonic development and cell differentiation, and its deregulation is linked to various cancers. In research involving cutaneous melanoma, Sox4 siRNA has been utilized to investigate the gene's role in tumor progression. Studies have shown that knocking down SOX4 in melanoma cell lines, such as MMRU, can lead to increased cell migration, suggesting that SOX4 may act as a tumor suppressor or modulator of metastasis in certain contexts. While it serves as a valuable research tool for functional genomics, its potential as a therapeutic agent or prognostic marker continues to be explored in preclinical models.
