Soybean-derived SEB oral vaccine is a recombinant protein subunit vaccine developed by SoyMeds for the prevention of Staphylococcal Enterotoxin B (SEB) intoxication, primarily for biodefense applications. The vaccine is produced using a proprietary platform that utilizes soybean seeds as an expression system for recombinant proteins. This technology enables the production of a stable, oral (mucosal) vaccine that does not require refrigeration. The vaccine is designed to induce both mucosal and systemic antibody responses that neutralize the SEB toxin. Preclinical studies in piglet models have demonstrated its ability to elicit these immune responses, suggesting potential for protecting against the toxic effects of SEB exposure.
