Drug intelligence / Profile preview
SP0202-IIb is a specific formulation of the 21-valent pneumococcal conjugate vaccine (PCV) candidate SP0202 (also known as GBP410). Developed through a collaboration between Sanofi and SK Bioscience, the vaccine is designed to protect against invasive pneumococcal disease and pneumonia caused by 21 different serotypes of Streptococcus pneumoniae. The vaccine utilizes a conjugate technology where bacterial capsular polysaccharides are chemically linked to a carrier protein to enhance immunogenicity, particularly in infants and toddlers. SP0202-IIb was one of several formulations evaluated in Phase II clinical trials to determine the optimal composition for advancing into Phase III global registration trials.
