Overview

**SP1002** is a preclinical fixed-dose small-molecule combination developed by Synchronicity Group for sleep disturbances and autism-related behaviors in pediatric autism spectrum disorder. It combines tasimelteon, a melatonin receptor MT1 and MT2 agonist intended to support circadian entrainment, with clonidine, an alpha-2 adrenergic receptor agonist that may reduce hyperarousal and support sleep. The program is based on the hypothesis that circadian dysregulation and melatonin deficiency contribute to sleep disturbance in autism spectrum disorder, with subsequent development interest in adult autism spectrum disorder and adolescent attention deficit hyperactivity disorder.
