SP56

SP56 is a synthetic peptide therapeutic developed by Serpin Pharma, currently in Phase 2 clinical development for the treatment of Acute Kidney Injury (AKI). Derived from the reactive center loop of serpins, specifically Alpha-1 Antitrypsin (AAT), SP56 belongs to a class of "pro-resolving" anti-inflammatory agents. The drug is designed to modulate the immune response by targeting the LRP1 receptor, which triggers signaling pathways that resolve inflammation and promote tissue repair.
