Spa Dent

Spa Dent is a propolis-based denture cleaning solution evaluated in clinical research led by Raphael Freitas de Souza at the University of São Paulo and McGill University. The solution is a natural product derived from bee resin, designed to be used as a soaking agent for complete dentures to remove plaque and reduce microbial colonization. It demonstrates antimicrobial activity against key pathogens such as *Candida albicans* and *Streptococcus mutans*, which are associated with the development of denture stomatitis. While it shows efficacy in killing microbes, clinical trials have investigated its ability to effectively remove established denture biofilm compared to conventional cleansers.
