Drug intelligence / Profile preview
SPARC124 is a small molecule therapeutic candidate developed by Sun Pharma Advanced Research Company (SPARC). It is designed to target the DNA Damage Response (DDR) pathway, a complex network of cellular signaling pathways that detect and repair DNA lesions. Cancer cells often exhibit genomic instability and rely heavily on specific DDR mechanisms to survive DNA damage, including that induced by chemotherapy or radiotherapy. By inhibiting components of the DDR machinery, SPARC124 aims to induce synthetic lethality or sensitize tumor cells to DNA-damaging agents. As of 2024, the program is in the early stages of development (preclinical/discovery) for the treatment of various solid tumors.
