SPARC129 is a bispecific T-cell engager (BiTE) being developed by Sun Pharma Advanced Research Company (SPARC) for the treatment of solid tumors. As a T-cell engager, the molecule is designed to simultaneously bind to a specific tumor-associated antigen (TAA) on cancer cells and the CD3 subunit of the T-cell receptor complex on T lymphocytes. This dual binding facilitates the formation of an immunological synapse, leading to T-cell activation and the subsequent release of cytotoxic granules (perforin and granzymes) to induce apoptosis in the target tumor cells.
