Spartalizumab is a humanized monoclonal antibody that targets the programmed death-1 (PD-1, also known as CD279) receptor on T cells. By binding to PD-1, spartalizumab blocks its interaction with PD-L1 and PD-L2, thereby inhibiting a key immune checkpoint pathway that tumors exploit to evade immune surveillance. This mechanism enhances T-cell mediated anti-tumor responses. Spartalizumab is developed primarily for the treatment of various cancers, including melanoma and cervical cancer. It has demonstrated efficacy in clinical trials for recurrent or metastatic nasopharyngeal carcinoma and has been approved in China (as 赛帕利单抗/誉妥) for relapsed or refractory classical Hodgkin lymphoma and recurrent/metastatic cervical cancer[3][5][7][10].
