*Spatholobus suberectus* (SS), commonly known as Jixueteng in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), is a botanical extract derived from the dried stems of the *Spatholobus suberectus* Dunn plant. Traditionally used to promote blood circulation and treat conditions such as anemia and menstrual irregularities, SS has gained attention for its potential antineoplastic properties. Research indicates that SS inhibits tumor cell proliferation by inducing apoptosis and arresting the cell cycle at the G2/M phase. This mechanism is associated with the induction of DNA damage and the subsequent activation of the Chk1 and Chk2 signaling pathways. Preclinical studies in breast cancer (MCF-7) and colon cancer (HT-29) models have demonstrated that SS effectively inhibits tumor growth in a dose-dependent manner, showing superior efficacy to docetaxel in xenograft models without significant systemic toxicity or weight loss.
