Drug intelligence / Profile preview
SPH-101 is an orally administered drug candidate being developed by Sapphire Therapeutics for the treatment of ulcerative colitis. It utilizes a non-immunosuppressive approach to treating inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) by targeting a novel, undisclosed receptor that modulates NFkB and interleukin-22 (IL-22) related pathways. This mechanism is intended to promote mucosal healing and restore epithelial barrier function without the systemic immune suppression associated with many current IBD therapies. As of early 2024, SPH-101 is in the lead identification/preclinical stage of development.
