Overview

SphK1 siRNA is a research-stage small interfering RNA (siRNA) designed to silence the expression of the SPHK1 gene, which encodes sphingosine kinase 1. Sphingosine kinase 1 is a key lipid kinase enzyme in the sphingosine-1-phosphate (S1P) signaling pathway, often overexpressed in various cancers where it promotes tumor progression, metastasis, and chemotherapy resistance. By knocking down SphK1 expression, this RNA interference (RNAi) approach is widely studied in preclinical and academic research across multiple oncology indications, including triple-negative breast cancer, nasopharyngeal carcinoma, neuroblastoma, ovarian carcinoma, and glioma. It is primarily available as a catalog research reagent from laboratory suppliers rather than a clinical-stage therapeutic asset.
