Overview

SPID-engineered GIPR antagonist antibody is a long-acting monoclonal antibody developed by PROTEINA Co., Ltd. for the treatment of obesity and metabolic disorders. Engineered using the SPID (Surface-displayed Protein Interaction Design) platform and deep mutational scanning (DMS), the antibody is optimized for high affinity, pH-sensitive recycling, and metabolic durability. In preclinical studies using diet-induced obesity (DIO) models, the lead candidate demonstrated a 47-day half-life and superior weight loss and glycemic control compared to earlier iterations. The drug is designed to serve as a maintenance-oriented monotherapy or a foundational backbone for next-generation combination regimens in chronic weight management.
