SpikoGen (CinnaGen)

SpikoGen (also known as COVAX-19) is a recombinant protein subunit vaccine developed to prevent COVID-19. It consists of a recombinant SARS-CoV-2 spike protein (S-protein) produced in insect cells, formulated with the proprietary Advax-SM adjuvant. Advax-SM is a delta-inulin-based adjuvant system developed by Vaxine Pty Ltd that enhances both humoral and cellular immune responses by activating innate immune pathways. The "low-dose" formulation specifically refers to the pediatric version of the vaccine, which contains 12.5 µg of the recombinant protein and 7.5 mg of the Advax-SM adjuvant, representing half of the standard adult dose (25 µg protein / 15 mg adjuvant). The vaccine was developed through a collaboration between the Australian biotech Vaxine and the Iranian pharmaceutical company CinnaGen and has undergone extensive Phase 3 clinical testing for efficacy and safety.
