Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Spirulysat is a liquid dietary supplement developed by the French company AlgoSource. It is an aqueous extract derived from fresh spirulina (*Arthrospira platensis*) using a patented cold-water extraction process that avoids solvents and chemicals. The primary active component is phycocyanin, a blue pigment-protein complex known for its potent antioxidant properties. Unlike dried spirulina products, Spirulysat is provided in a liquid form, which is reported to enhance the bioavailability and antioxidant efficacy of the phycocyanin. It is primarily marketed for general wellbeing and antioxidant support, although AlgoSource has also investigated its potential applications in cardiovascular health (atherosclerosis prevention), liver protection (NAFLD/NASH), and supportive care in oncology through clinical studies conducted with French research institutions.
