Overview

SPL-890 (also known as GTI-890) is a small molecule inhibitor of S-nitrosoglutathione reductase (GSNOR) being developed by GSNOR Therapeutics. GSNOR is an enzyme that regulates the levels of S-nitrosoglutathione (GSNO), a key signaling molecule in nitric oxide (NO) biology. By inhibiting GSNOR, SPL-890 aims to increase GSNO levels, which has been shown to have anti-inflammatory and bronchodilatory effects. The drug is currently in preclinical development for the treatment of inflammatory conditions and is designed for both oral and intravenous administration.
