Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Spleen aminopeptide oral lyophilized powder is a biological immunomodulator developed by Zhejiang Fengan Biopharmaceutical, marketed under brand names such as FuKetuo and Lifushu. It is a polypeptide extract derived from healthy animal spleens, containing a complex mixture of low-molecular-weight peptides and amino acids. The drug functions by regulating cellular immune function, specifically by promoting the maturation, differentiation, and activation of T-lymphocytes, and enhancing the phagocytic and cytotoxic activities of macrophages and natural killer (NK) cells. In China, it is approved for the treatment of recurrent respiratory infections, chronic bronchitis, and asthma, as well as for supportive care in cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy or radiotherapy to mitigate treatment-induced immune suppression. It is also utilized in the management of autoimmune diseases and viral infections such as severe herpes zoster.
