Overview

SPM002 is a preclinical-stage peptide-based proteolysis-targeting chimera (P-PROTAC) being developed by SPIMA Therapeutics. Utilizing the company's proprietary P-PROTAC platform, the molecule is designed to selectively degrade intracellular proteins that are traditionally considered "undruggable," such as transcription factors or scaffolding proteins. By employing a peptide ligand rather than a small molecule to bind the target protein, P-PROTACs aim to achieve high specificity and improved solubility. SPM002 is currently positioned for the treatment of various cancers, although its specific molecular target remains undisclosed by the developer as of 2024.
