Drug intelligence / Profile preview
SPOT-mRNA01 is an extracellular vesicle (EV)-encapsulated mRNA therapeutic designed to deliver collagen type I alpha 1 chain (COL1A1) mRNA into dermal tissue. Developed by SIPO Biotechnology in collaboration with Spot BioSystems and Shanghai Ninth People's Hospital, the candidate is intended for cosmetic anti-aging applications, specifically targeting skin aging and wrinkle reduction. By introducing COL1A1 mRNA, SPOT-mRNA01 induces the expression and grafting of human collagen protein directly within the dermis, thereby replenishing depleted collagen levels and reducing wrinkle formation. It is currently undergoing Phase 1 clinical evaluation in healthy adult subjects.
