Overview

SPR2 is a preclinical-stage small molecule inhibitor of the C-X-C motif chemokine receptor 2 (CXCR2), developed by Sporos BioDiscovery. The drug is designed to address resistance to immune checkpoint blockade therapies by preventing the recruitment of myeloid-derived suppressor cells (MDSCs) into the tumor microenvironment. MDSCs are known negative regulators of the anti-tumor immune response, and their presence is often associated with poor clinical outcomes and therapeutic resistance. By blocking CXCR2, SPR2 aims to remove these immunosuppressive impediments, thereby enhancing the efficacy of immunotherapies in various cancers.
