Overview

SPX-1011 is an investigational antibody-drug conjugate (ADC) being developed by SparX Biotech for the treatment of solid tumors. The drug specifically targets Claudin 18.2 (CLDN18.2), a tight junction protein that is highly expressed in gastric, esophageal, and pancreatic cancers but has limited expression in normal tissues. SPX-1011 consists of a monoclonal antibody directed against CLDN18.2, which is conjugated to a potent cytotoxic payload. Upon binding to the target on the surface of cancer cells, the ADC is internalized, and the payload is released to induce cell death. This targeted approach is intended to maximize anti-tumor activity while minimizing systemic toxicity. SPX-1011 is currently in the preclinical stage of development, representing the ADC counterpart to SparX Biotech's monoclonal antibody candidate, SPX-101.
