SPY001

SPY001 is an investigational, novel, humanized monoclonal IgG1 antibody with an extended half-life, designed to target the integrin α4β7. It is being developed for the potential treatment of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), which includes ulcerative colitis and Crohn's disease. The drug is administered subcutaneously and has demonstrated in preclinical studies equivalent potency to vedolizumab in blocking MadCAM-1 adhesion but with a significantly longer half-life—over 90 days in humans—enabling less frequent dosing (potentially every two or three months). Phase 1 clinical trials have shown that SPY001 is well-tolerated and supports infrequent dosing regimens.
