Overview

SQ-104 is an investigational regenerative cell therapy developed by Kidswell Bio (formerly Gene Techno Science) and its subsidiary S-Quatre Corporation. The therapy utilizes Stem cells from Human Exfoliated Deciduous teeth (SHED), which are mesenchymal stem cells harvested from baby teeth. These cells are characterized by high proliferative capacity and the ability to differentiate into various cell types, including osteoblasts. SQ-104 is specifically being developed for the treatment of osteonecrosis of the femoral head, a condition where bone tissue dies due to interrupted blood supply. The therapy aims to promote bone regeneration and revascularization at the site of necrosis. The project is being advanced in collaboration with Dokkyo Medical University and is currently in Phase 1/2 clinical trials.
