Overview
The SQ SLIT-tablet is a sublingual immunotherapy (SLIT) tablet formulation used for the treatment of allergic rhinoconjunctivitis (ARC), with or without asthma. It contains standardized allergen extracts from specific sources such as grass pollen, tree pollen (birch homologous group), or house dust mite. The tablets are administered by placing them under the tongue to induce immune tolerance to the relevant allergens. The mechanism of action involves modulation of the immune response through induction of regulatory T cells and a shift toward Th1-type responses, leading to increased clinical tolerance and reduced allergic symptoms[6][8]. Long-term use has demonstrated disease-modifying effects in children and adults[1]. The product is approved in multiple countries for ARC related to specific allergens.
