Overview

**SQ012** is an investigational self-amplifying mRNA (sa-mRNA) influenza vaccine developed by Seqirus, a CSL subsidiary, designed to elicit potent immune responses against influenza at low doses. It encodes influenza antigens, such as hemagglutinin (HA) and potentially neuraminidase (NA) in bicistronic formats, targeting both seasonal and pandemic strains like A(H1N1) and A(H5N1). Preclinical data demonstrate cross-reactive neutralizing antibodies and T-cell responses superior to conventional mRNA vaccines, with a Phase I trial (NCT06028347) evaluating safety, reactogenicity, and immunogenicity in healthy adults.[1][5][9]
