SQ609

SQ609 is a novel, orally bioavailable dipiperidine small molecule antibiotic being developed by Sequella, Inc. for the treatment of tuberculosis (TB). Identified from a proprietary chemical library of over 250,000 molecular entities, SQ609 has demonstrated potent activity against both laboratory and clinical strains of *Mycobacterium tuberculosis* in in vitro and in vivo models. Its mechanism of action involves the interference of cell wall biosynthesis, although the precise molecular target remains under investigation. SQ609 has shown synergistic potential when combined with front-line antitubercular drugs and has received NIH SBIR Phase I funding to support IND-directed preclinical studies, including pharmacology and toxicity evaluations.
